As of July 17, 2020 - Governor Newsom released guidance that allows schools, whether public or private, to open if they are in a county that has been off the County Monitoring List for 14 days and follow strict health and safety requirements, including masks, symptoms checks, and switching back to distance learning when required.
Santa Clara County is currently on the watch list.
The school reviews directives from the Santa Clara Public Health Department, the California Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are also consulting with the California Association of Independent Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, and the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
With the latest directives, the Administrative Team has decided that it is in the best interest of our community to open school with distance learning on Monday, August 17. Based on Santa Clara County’s watch list status, we will re-evaluate the school’s ability to offer on-campus learning on a month-by-month basis.
Distance learning classes are held synchronously online and students learn from home using a laptop, tablet, or Chromebook device. Students learn from home connecting to their classes via webcam and web conferencing software. Classes are scheduled on weekdays starting from 8:00AM-2:00PM for middle school and 8:30AM-2:00PM for K-5th.
