PICTURE DAY INFORMATION: FREE DRESS DAYS FOR FEBRUARY 9th – FEBRUARY 12th

 

Below is some important information regarding picture day:

 

1. The day that your child’s class is scheduled, your child will take their 3 individual pictures and class pictures

2. Proof order forms will be printed and sent home for families to view and order on the same day as Picture Day.

3. Families will have 7 days to order online or return their order form to the school.

4. Finished portraits will arrive at Monticello Academy within 3 weeks to distribute.

5. Each students will get 2 complimentary Smilesafe Photo ID Cards, no purchase necessary.

6. Every child will get their picture taken, whether you purchase or not. These pictures will be used for sign in and out, student file, and ID cards.

7. Purchase any package at full price and receive 20% off any additional packages of equal or lesser value.

8. All checks must be payable to: Lifetouch.  For every order that a parent purchases, Monticello Academy will receive a 15% kickback to the school as a fundraising proceed.

 

Spring Portrait is scheduled for February 9th-February 12th, and it is Free Dress.  For all graduating 8th graders and promoting Kindergarteners and 5th graders, they will take their individual, groups, and graduation or promotion picture on the day that they are designated on the school calendar. Please refer to the calendar for date and time.

 

 

DRAGON DANCE

 

Dragon Dance: Get your luck for the year by giving your donation to the dragon dancers at our annual Dragon Dance Event on Friday, February 12 at 4:00PM.  All proceeds will go to a non-profit organization that funds afterschool care for less fortunate children.  Please put your donation in the red envelope and return to the front office with your child’s first and last name and class, written on the back of the red envelope.  

 

 

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION – CAMP MONTICELLO

 

Camp Monticello registration is now available. All current parents were sent an e-mail with details of the camps and registration if you are interested. If you have not received it, please contact Mr. David Truong at dtruong@monticelloacademy.org. Come and discover the fun and exciting activities that are awaiting for your child.  If you have any questions, please e-mail Ms. Rebecca at rleung@monticelloacademy.org.  Here are the information that you will receive about our camps:

 

1. Weekly registration

5. 3 groups – Kindergarten; 1st-2nd grade; 3rd grade and up

MID-WINTER BREAK – FEBRUARY 15TH - FEBRUARY 19TH

 

There will be no elementary and middle school during the week of February 15-February 19; however, extended care will be available from Tuesday, February 16th to Friday, February 19th at no extra cost for our students who are enrolled in the All-Day program. Please sign up using the following links to inform us  when your child will be here and provide us with his/her first and last name.

 

There will be a field trip to The Children's Creativity Museum in SF on Wednesday, February 17th for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade students. Please submit a signed permission slip no later than Friday, February 12th if your child will be attending. Attached is the permission slip.

2016-2017 SCHOOL HOLIDAY AND BREAK SCHEDULE

 

Family time is an essential part of a child’s development.  We always encourage students and parents spend quality time together as a family.  To help you better plan for the upcoming school year, attached is the holiday and break schedule.  We ask that you plan your family vacation at the same time as the school’s holiday and break schedule to prevent any disruption in your child’s learning.

 

Please mark your calendar that the first day of school for the next school year is Wednesday, August 24, 2016, and the last day is Friday, June 9, 2017. Orientation for middle school is Monday, August 22, 2016, and orientation for elementary is Tuesday, August 23, 2016.

 

 

REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK

 

School Calendar: Please review the attached updated school calendar since they have all the listed reminders and events for parents on the side. Changes are in red.

 

Yearbook Sale: Order your yearbook for $85.00 before they are gone.  Last day to purchase your yearbook is March 31, 2016. All purchases can be done through your Smart Tuition account.  Yearbooks will not arrive until June 2016.

 

Staff Parking: The parking lot in the back is reserved for teachers only, not for any student pick-ups.

 

Attendance:  As a reminder, if your child is out sick for the day or has an appointment, please report your child’s absences to Ms. Evon or Ms. Rebecca at extension 129 or send them an e-mail.

 

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

 

Mustangs Athletic Program: MA Girls versus Stratford Girls at MA on Tuesday, February 9 @ 3:45PM. MA 6th – 8th grade boys versus Hillbrook at Hillbrook on Thursday, February 11 @ 3:45PM.

 

Candy Gram Sale: Send a special gram to someone special.  Each gram is $1.00.  Last day for candy gram sale is Thursday, February 11.  All grams will be distributed on Friday, February 12 by the 8th grade class.

 

2nd Grade Field Trip: Wednesday, February 10 to the Lawrence Hall of Science from 7:30AM- 3:30PM.  We will depart the school at 8:00AM. Please check with your teacher for further information.

 

 

BOX TOP FOR SCHOOL

 

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS AND KIDS!

Support your school and submit your 50 Box Tops to the front office by no later than Friday, February 19, 2016.  As an incentive, if you submit 50 Box Tops, you will receive a voucher for one free item at the Student Government monthly sales! Box Top program is a way for schools to earn money. Box Tops are little logos that you can find on a variety of products. If you find the Box Top logo on a product, just cut it out and collect them.  Once you have collected 50 Box Tops, tape or glue them to the Box Top submission form.  We have attached the Box Top submission form. The sheet only has 25 spots, so you will have to turn in 2 submission forms to receive the voucher.  If you have any questions, please e-mail Pratha Patil or Amy Gruber via School Loop or Mrs. Trinh.
