Monticello Academy will be holding the contest on Tuesday, November 15th from 2:30-3:30pm in Middle School room 2. Contest registration is open to our 6-8th grade Middle School students as well as to any outside community members who would like their students to have the opportunity to participate in the contest.
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. Students apply classroom learned skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment.
Monticello Academy will be covering the costs for our students to participate; any outside students will pay a $20 fee in cash on the day of the contest. To register, parents must send me an email confirming they’d like their student to take the assessment (email@example.com) by Friday, October 7th.
