2 years of band or private lessons. Teacher approval is required for all new applicants who have not been part of the Monticello Academy band program for two years.

Description
The Band elective is a large ensemble performance class made up of experienced (2 years minimum) woodwinds, brass, percussion, and select strings and keyboards (with teacher approval). There will be at least three performances a year. Enrollment is up to the teacher's discretion. Regular practice and owning/renting a quality instrument in good playing condition are required. Percussion needs to have a practice pad and sticks for home practice. This course will prepare students for high school-level performance.
